CDA Seeking Information from Agricultural Lenders on Administering Ag Loan Program

The Colorado Departments of Agriculture and Personnel & Administration are seeking information from current agricultural and other lenders who can provide insight and expertise into structuring a comprehensive scope of work and cost response for an agricultural loan program. The loan program comes as the result of SB 21-248, which appropriated up to $30 million for low interest loans and farm-to-market infrastructure loans and grants.

Colorado Drought Taskforce: Northwest Colorado Drought Tour Recap

On August 11 and 12, the Colorado Drought Task Force organized a Drought Tour through northwest Colorado in the Yampa River Basin to speak with producers, natural resource managers, local legislators, and other community members about the impacts of an ongoing drought in the region. The tour was geared towards helping legislators and other key policy makers understand the impacts of prolonged drought on Colorado’s northwest region (Routt and Moffat counties) and recognize how its effects impact all of Colorado.

Agricultural stimulus updates 

The Colorado Department of Agriculture has been working to set up and administer a number of programs passed by the legislature in the 2021 session. In all, the Colorado Comeback stimulus bills are driving $76M directly to Colorado’s agricultural sector.

2021 Legislative Session Recap

When 2020 presented us with seemingly insurmountable obstacles, 2021 has brought us much in the form of relief and recovery from the global pandemic and its effects on the agricultural industry. 

Overall, the Colorado Department of Agriculture will see $76M come through our doors as a result of the Colorado Comeback state stimulus package. This is a testament to how critical agriculture is to the State of Colorado.
