Welcome to the Division of Animal Welfare

The Division was created through House Bill 24-1458 to house two existing CDA programs: the Bureau of Animal Protection (BAP) and the Pet Animal Care and Facilities Act (PACFA) Program. The bill also created a new equine welfare grant program to be established in the Division. 

The division focuses on the well-being of both companion animals and livestock, and aims to create a comprehensive and effective approach to protecting animals in Colorado.
