2022 Purple Loosestrife, Hairy Willow-herb, & Other Aquatic Invasives Control Training

Add to Calendar 2024-07-16 04:23:54 2024-07-16 04:23:54 2022 Purple Loosestrife, Hairy Willow-herb, & Other Aquatic Invasives Control Training Date – Thursday, July 21, 2022 Time – 12:30 PM – 3:00 PM What – A workshop on purple loosestrife, hairy willow-herb, and other semi-aquatic and aquatic species (identification, biology, control methods, and mapping) offered by the Colorado Department of Agriculture (CDA) and Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) Where – Virtual & In Person! CPW Office: 6060 Broadway, Denver, Colorado (Big Horn Conference Room) or via Zoom Who – All are welcome to attend. This is a free training and walk-ins are welcome, but please register by emailing emily.mcgrath@state.co.us so that we can properly plan for the correct number of people (snacks will be provided!). Speakers – Emily McGrath (CDA) & Robert Walters (CPW) Why – Purple loosestrife, hairy willow-herb, and other aquatic and semi-aquatic invasive species are destructive noxious weeds that take over wetlands, impair the flow of water, destroy wildlife habitat, and degrade native plant communities. The Front Range Purple Loosestrife group was created in 1993 by Dave Weber, Retired CPW Biologist. This team is still working together today and makes great progress every year controlling purple loosestrife and other aquatic species. Come learn how you can help be part of the solution!
