Wine Grape Enforcement Discretion

The Produce Safety Rule sets minimum standards for the safe growing, harvesting, packing, and holding of fruits and vegetables for human consumption. It doesn't apply to produce rarely consumed raw, grown for personal or on-farm use, or not a raw agricultural commodity. If covered by the rule, the produce could still be exempt if it undergoes commercial processing that reduces pathogens and meets documentation requirements.

Use the flowchart at left to check if the PSR covers your farm and if the current Enforcement Discretion on Wine Grapes, Hops, and Almonds applies. It also will help you determine if you need to register with the state of Colorado or take the PSR Grower Training.
