CDA is seeking volunteers to serve on the Agricultural Water Quality Advisory Committee, which provides the department with guidance and feedback on issues impacting ground and surface water quality. The Agricultural Water Quality Program (AWQP) relies upon the 14 member advisory committee to help guide program objectives, evaluate effectiveness of program activities, and provide a direct link to local perspectives from consumers and producers across Colorado.

The Colorado Department of Agriculture (CDA) is now accepting grant applications to distribute $748,000 in funding to counties, municipalities, conservation districts, and non-profit organizations and associations for projects that focus on controlling the state’s designated noxious weeds. The 2022 Noxious Weed Management Grants combine  the Noxious Weed Fund and State and Private Forestry funds. 

The Colorado Department of Agriculture (CDA), through the Pet Animal Care and Facilities Act (PACFA) program, has summarily suspended the license of, and issued a cease and desist order to New Hope Rescue, Inc., an animal shelter facility in Colorado Springs. These actions require New Hope Rescue to immediately suspend all licensed activities related to the care of pet animals, including adoption, importation, transfer, foster, and any other action typically taken by a shelter or rescue.
