The Colorado Agricultural Pest Survey Team has begun their annual season of monitoring for pests via insect trapping and visual survey. Coloradans can expect to see some insect traps around their local parks, forests and campgrounds, and should leave the traps in their place.
After a detection of the invasive Japanese Beetle in Grand Junction this summer, the Colorado Department of Agriculture has been working in partnership with local stakeholders to eradicate the pest and prevent its spread into additional areas of Colorado.
With the news that the spotted lanternfly has been found in Iowa, the Colorado Department of Agriculture is launching a new informational website to help teach Coloradans and visitors to our state about how to identify and eradicate the invasive spotted lanternfly (SLF).
