Governor’s Plate Winners Named at the Colorado State Fair

Anne's À La Mode Wins Esteemed Golden Plate Award

Nine food trucks competed for culinary honors during the second annual Governor’s Plate competition today at the Colorado State Fair. Anne's À La Mode was crowned the Governor’s Plate winner in the Colorado-sourced food competition. The mobile restaurant took home the coveted Golden Plate award, while Papa Mario’s, the 2021 champion, was recognized as the People’s Choice winner. 

The Pork Chop Lady/Sam’s Street Tacos Wins Golden Ticket Entry Into 2022 Governor’s Plate Competition

 As a part of Celebrate Colorado weekend, the Colorado State Fair and Colorado Lottery partnered with The Food Truck Union for a food truck competition at Mineral Palace Park in Pueblo this past Friday. To kick off this year’s Governor’s Plate competition, community members had the opportunity to vote for their favorite offering from several local food trucks. The winner, The Pork Chop Lady/Sam’s Street Tacos, received a Golden Ticket offering a direct entry into this year’s Governor’s Plate competition.

Inaugural Governor’s Plate Awarded at Colorado State Fair

Receiving the highest praise and the first-ever Governor’s Plate award, the Papa Mario’s Grilled Cheese Food Truck was crowned the winner at the Colorado State Fair’s inaugural Colorado-sourced food competition. The Governor’s Plate winner was the Panfili grilled cheese, prepared with ingredients from Colorado Proud producers, including Musso Farms and Springside Cheese.

“Governor’s Plate” Event to Feature Colorado Sourced Ingredients

To highlight Colorado’s diverse and unbeatable agricultural products and chefs, Governor Jared Polis has announced the inaugural “Governor’s Plate” competition to debut at the 2021 Colorado State Fair. The competitors will partner with Colorado Proud to select Colorado-grown ingredients, including the Pueblo chile, to incorporate in their dishes.
