Annual Colorado Hay Directory Now Accepting Listings 2021

The Colorado Department of Agriculture is accepting listings for the 2021 Colorado Hay Directory. The annual publication connects hay producers with buyers.

“The Hay Directory is a great way for livestock owners across the state and beyond to find the feed they need easily,” said Danielle Trotta, senior marketing specialist for the Colorado Department of Agriculture. “We know how busy our livestock producers are, and so by publishing our annual Hay Directory we can take some of the legwork out for them.” 

Conservation Districts Consolidate

San Miguel Basin Conservation District and Shavano Conservation District will join forces to meet the natural resources conservation needs of landowners within their boundaries in the Delta, Gunnison, Montrose, Ouray, and San Miguel Counties.

In a special election held  May 4, 2021, landowners from the two districts voted to consolidate the districts, forming a new district, which will be known as the “Shavano Conservation District.” 

Dr. Maggie Baldwin named Colorado State Veterinarian

The Colorado Department of Agriculture (CDA) is pleased to announce that Dr. Maggie Baldwin has been named state veterinarian. In the role, Dr. Baldwin will manage CDA’s Animal Health division through planning, directing and executing all programs, policies and cooperative agreements with other governmental agencies. 

Public Invited to Provide Input on the Colorado State Hemp Plan

In keeping with the state of Colorado’s efforts to develop a robust hemp industry since the Colorado Department of Agriculture (CDA) launched a hemp pilot program in 2014, stakeholder feedback is now being sought for the continued development of Colorado’s State Hemp Plan.

Colorado State Fair Launches New Partnership with Top Regional Marketing Firm

The Colorado Department of Agriculture is pleased to announce the selection of Southern Colorado-based AdPro 360 as the new marketing firm for the Colorado State Fair 2021 season. Contracting with the firm is a key action item in executing on the State Fair’s strategic goal of creating a dynamic, comprehensive marketing and outreach plan to elevate the State Fair across Colorado.
