Add to Calendar 2023-12-02 21:41:24 2023-12-02 21:41:24 PACFA Town Hall Meeting Notice New Rule Requirements On March 16, 2023, the Colorado Agriculture Commission approved new rules for PACFA that will require: all licensed facilities to have a written contingency (emergency) plan, shelters and rescues to have a written behavior and enrichment plan for dogs and cats in their care any PACFA licensee who transports or imports pet animals to have a Disease Control and Treatment (DCAT) Plan. The new rule topics discussed during the Town Hall will include: Behavior & Enrichment Plans Disease Control & Treatment (DCAT) Plans Contingency & Emergency Preparedness Plans The webinar will include a live Question & Answer session. Once the rule becomes effective on May 15, 2023, all PACFA licensees subject to the new regulations are expected to be compliant with the plan requirements. On March 16, 2023, the Colorado Agriculture Commission approved new rules for PACFA that will require:

Gallegos Brings 25 Years of State and Regulatory Experience to ICS Director Position

The Colorado Department of Agriculture has hired acting Division Director for the Inspection and Consumer Services (ICS) Division Mark Gallegos as permanent Director of the Division. Gallegos was promoted internally and is replacing Hollis Glenn, who has moved into the role of the Deputy Commissioner of Operations for CDA.

Broomfield, Colo. - The Pet Animal Care Facilities Act (PACFA), a program administered by the Colorado Department of Agriculture (CDA), has passed a temporary emergency rule exemption in response to the outbreak of the COVID-19 virus.
