Program honors individuals, families, and businesses that have sustained Colorado’s agricultural industry

The 2023 Colorado’s Electric Cooperatives Junior Livestock Sale held today at the Colorado State Fair raised more than $470,350 in the auction of 108 animals raised and shown by young people from across Colorado. The 2023 Grand Champion Market Beef, raised by Hadli Gabel of Weld County, was sold for $50,000 at today’s event and was purchased by the Sam Brown family.

From the six food trucks competing in the third annual Governor’s Plate competition at the Colorado State Fair, Stoke Pizza received the Golden Plate award for their wood-fired chorizo, elote, and green chile pizza. Papa Mario’s Grilled Cheese was chosen as the People’s Choice winner for a third year in a row for their Tiff Special roast beef sandwich. 

Governor Jared Polis sampled all dishes to award the Golden Plate and event attendees voted on their favorites during the event.

Hope you’re ready to have “Mountains of Fun” as the 151st Colorado State Fair kicks off today! The fairgrounds in Pueblo are bustling as organizers get ready to host approximately half a million fairgoers during the course of the next 11 days. This year's Colorado State Fair runs from August 25, through Labor Day, September 4, 2023.

Calling all hobby winemakers, homebrewers, craft breweries and wineries to throw down the goblet for the Colorado State fair beer and wine competitions!

The Colorado State Fair is now accepting submissions in four categories: commercial wine, hobby wine, craft beer, and homebrew. Anyone 21 years of age and older can enter. 

Starting with a flash sale this morning, the Colorado State Fair announced its plans for “Mountains of Fun'' during the 151st State Fair, scheduled for August 25 - September 4, 2023, at the State Fairgrounds in Pueblo, Colorado. Today marks 151 days left until the State Fair begins. 

Pueblo’s Original Home & Garden Show is returning to the Colorado State Fairgrounds in 2023 after a two-year hiatus. On March 11 and 12, more than 100 vendors will showcase their products and services that focus on remodeling, rebuilding, and renovation ideas and products for homes, yards, and other living spaces. 

The Colorado State Fair celebrated its 150th year with 461,104 visitors who traveled to Pueblo to have fun, support the next generation of agriculture, and learn more about one of our state’s primary economic drivers: agriculture. 

While attendance overall exceeded that from 2021 by only one percent, Fiesta Day, celebrated Sunday, September 4, 2022, saw the largest single day of attendance in 13 years, with 69,562 visitors who walked through the gates.

The 2022 Colorado’s Electric Cooperatives Junior Livestock Sale held yesterday at the Colorado State Fair, raised more than $491,000 in the auction of 139 animals raised and shown by young people from across Colorado. The 2022 Grand Champion Market Beef, raised by Stetson Gabel of Weld County, was sold for $58,000 at today’s event and was purchased by Sam Brown and Family.

Colorado’s heritage and agricultural roots will be on display at the 150th Colorado State Fair, which opens today, August 26, 2022, at 11 a.m. MT and continues through Labor Day, Monday, September 5, 2022, at the State Fairgrounds in Pueblo. The 2022 theme is “150 Years of Fun” and a record-setting number of attractions and entertainment offerings are planned for the 11-day event.
