The 2022 Colorado’s Electric Cooperatives Junior Livestock Sale held yesterday at the Colorado State Fair, raised more than $491,000 in the auction of 139 animals raised and shown by young people from across Colorado. The 2022 Grand Champion Market Beef, raised by Stetson Gabel of Weld County, was sold for $58,000 at today’s event and was purchased by Sam Brown and Family.
Colorado’s heritage and agricultural roots will be on display at the 150th Colorado State Fair, which opens today, August 26, 2022, at 11 a.m. MT and continues through Labor Day, Monday, September 5, 2022, at the State Fairgrounds in Pueblo. The 2022 theme is “150 Years of Fun” and a record-setting number of attractions and entertainment offerings are planned for the 11-day event.

The Colorado State Fair announces sibling trio The Band Perry will take the stage at the Southwest Motors Event Center on September 2, 2022, at 7:00 p.m. Tickets for the show are on sale now on the Colorado State Fair website. The music act joins artists such as T.I., Walker Hayes, Stone Temple Pilots, and comedian Jim Gaffigan in the list of headliners performing at the 150th Colorado State Fair.
Country music trio Lady A has announced a postponement of their North American tour and with it the performance at the 150th Colorado State Fair in Pueblo. The performance, originally scheduled for Friday, September 2, 2022, will be postponed until next year. The rescheduled date is Friday, September 1, 2023.
Current ticket holders have the option of keeping their tickets for the 2023 show or can receive a full refund if requested by November 30, 2022. Refunds are available at point of purchase.
Along with exciting concerts, livestock competitions, rodeos, and annual fair fun, the 150th Colorado State Fair is scheduled to host 20 general entry and fine arts contests for both adults and children. Stone Temple Pilots (sponsored by the Colorado Lottery), Lou Gramm (original lead singer of Foreigner) with special guest Berlin, T.I., and Celebración de los Charros with Los Tucanes de Tijuana presented by Mercado Motors have all joined the lineup of musical acts.
Upon guidance from the Colorado State Veterinarian, the Colorado State Fair Board Authority has made the determination to cancel any poultry shows during the 2022 fair. This precautionary measure is being taken as highly pathogenic avian influenza continues to affect domestic poultry across the nation. The Board approved the cancellation during their regular Board meeting on Wednesday, May 25, 2022.
Randy Rogers Band and Eddie Montgomery of Montgomery Gentry Join Entertainment Lineup
The Colorado State Fair has announced two additional concert headliners: The PRCA Ram Rodeos will feature performances by the Randy Rogers Band and Eddie Montgomery of Montgomery Gentry. The 150th State Fair is scheduled from August 26 – September 5, 2022.
The Colorado State Fair Authority released a new economic impact report detailing specifics of the fair’s contributions to Pueblo’s economy. In 2021, the 11 days of the State Fair generated $43.7 million in total output which supported 506 total jobs and $14.9 million in total earnings in Pueblo County. In addition, non-fair activity in 2021 generated $11.8 million in total output which supported 106 total jobs and $4.3 million in total earnings in the County.
