To submit your Colorado Open Records Act (CORA) request from the Colorado Department of Agriculture's (CDA) Bureau of Animal Protection program, please use the online form.
Please be advised that records requests need to be filed with the correct agency and make sure that you double check which agency handled your case or complaint before submitting a CORA request here. The BAP is unlikely to have access to most records from Animal Control, Police Departments, Sheriff's offices or other agencies outside of the CDA.
If you have any trouble using this form, please email requests to cda_bap@state.co.us.
Pursuant to § 24-72-205(5)(a), C.R.S. of the Colorado Open Records Act (CORA), state agencies are entitled to reimbursement for the reasonable costs associated with staff time for fulfilling open records requests. Our staff will notify you of any possible costs once we receive your request. Cases that are still in the investigatory period are not open to public inspection pursuant to 35-42-111(3), C.R.S.
