Iconic rock band Cheap Trick will rock the 153rd Colorado State Fair at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 31, at the Southwest Motors Events Center.
"Prepare for a night of pure rock 'n' roll magic! Cheap Trick's performance will be an electrifying, unforgettable experience," said Andrea Wiesenmeyer, general manager of the Colorado State Fair. "Get ready to celebrate the end of summer with this legendary band sponsored by the Colorado Lottery – it's going to be a show for the ages!"
The official Colorado Lottery concert, Cheap Trick, bridges '60s guitar pop, the hard rock of the 1970s, and the emerging punk rock sound of the early 1980s. Over the years, the band has carved out a style all its own and helped define the power pop genre. Known for their electrifying live performances, catchy melodies, innovative songwriting and rock anthems like "I Want You to Want Me," Cheap Trick still tours nonstop. With over 20 million albums sold, the band has a dedicated cult following that spans generations. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame cemented Cheap Trick's place in rock history with a 2016 induction ceremony.
"The Lottery is thrilled to sponsor another unforgettable concert for the people of Colorado. Our annual State Fair concert promotion gives people the opportunity to attend a concert and play the Lottery which funds outdoor recreation, conservation and schools in Colorado,” said Tom Seaver, Senior Director of the Colorado Lottery. "We know Cheap Trick has a huge following, and I am confident the Lottery will fill the Southwest Motors Events Center to the rafters with this powerful live show."
Thanks to the partnership with Colorado Lottery, those who make a qualifying purchase of $30 or more on a single ticket of Powerball (with or without Power Play and/or Double Play), Mega Millions, Colorado Lotto+ (with or without Plus), or Lucky for Life, will receive a voucher for concert admission, while supplies last.
