High School FFA Students Spend a Day in the Soil

In the fall of 2023, the Centennial Conservation District and the USDA/Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) sponsored a Soil Pit Field Day for the Logan County FFA chapters.
The Colorado State Conservation Board (CSCB) is pleased to announce $460,029 has been granted to 24 Colorado Conservation Districts through the Matching Grant program, funding 26 contracted projects. The CSCB, supported by the Colorado Department of Agriculture, provides professional development, organizational development, and conservation programs to assist Colorado’s 74 Conservation Districts in leading grassroots environmental and agricultural stewardship.
Big Thompson Conservation District and Fort Collins Conservation District will join forces to meet the natural resources conservation needs of landowners within their boundaries in Larimer and Weld Counties.
Commissioner of Agriculture Kate Greenberg is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2021 Award for Conservation Excellence, which recognizes individuals in Conservation Districts who have demonstrated excellence and leadership for Colorado’s conservation community. This year’s honorees are Katlin Miller from the Middle Park Conservation District and Patrick O’Neill from the Mosca-Hooper Conservation District.
San Miguel Basin Conservation District and Shavano Conservation District will join forces to meet the natural resources conservation needs of landowners within their boundaries in the Delta, Gunnison, Montrose, Ouray, and San Miguel Counties.
In a special election held May 4, 2021, landowners from the two districts voted to consolidate the districts, forming a new district, which will be known as the “Shavano Conservation District.”

Broomfield, Colo. - Colorado’s Conservation Districts now have until July 7 to opt in for Coronavirus Relief Funding (CVRF) through the Colorado Department of Local Affairs (DOLA), following a decision by DOLA to extend the application deadline.
