In mid-June, CDA and Colorado State University's AgNext hosted ranchers, dairymen, livestock producers, and agricultural groups at Methane Day.

AgNext is a research collaborative dedicated to advancing the science of sustainable animal agriculture, and Methane Day brought together agricultural voices to learn about current technologies, discuss hurdles, and guide CDA's future role in methane reduction.

This day-long workshop capped off a four day research summit about sustainable solutions in animal agriculture. To continue progressing towards Colorado's Greenhouse Gas Reduction efforts, CDA funded this event to discuss opportunities and barriers of reducing methane emissions.

The event featured multiple expert presentations about current research and methane mitigation strategies, a panel centered on producer perspectives, a chance for audience feedback, a tour of the Climate-Smart Research facility, and more.

Led by Cindy Lair and Kristen Boysen of the Conservation Services Division, the CDA team leapt at the opportunity to listen to agricultural producers and CSU researchers.

These conversations will inform how CDA supports producers who are working hard to reduce emissions while maintaining the highest quality products and improving ecosystem services.
