Colorado Agriculture Commissioner Kate Greenberg issued the following statement about President Biden’s key regional appointments.
“The Colorado Department of Agriculture is pleased to learn of President Biden’s appointments to several key federal positions supporting agriculture in Colorado. The President has chosen talented, qualified, and dedicated Coloradans to fill three critical positions. With Kent Peppler as Executive Director of Colorado’s Farm Service Agency, Armando Valdez as State Director of Rural Development, and former Speaker of the House KC Becker as EPA’s Region 8 Administrator, I am confident that Colorado will continue to be a leader in promoting a vibrant, resilient future for agriculture."
Building economic, climate and supply chain resilience has been a priority for CDA and the Polis administration and I am confident these appointees will thoughtfully lead their agencies to foster and enhance the relationships they have with state, local, and tribal leaders. CDA looks forward to working closely with our new federal partners to strengthen and advance Colorado agriculture and foster responsible stewardship of the environment and natural resources.”
