Recall of the herbicide known as Dacthal, also known as Dimethyl tetrachloroterephthalate (DCPA), a pesticide registered to control weeds in both agricultural and non-agricultural settings, continues.
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has issued an emergency order to halt the use of the herbicide Dacthal, also known as Dimethyl tetrachloroterephthalate (DCPA), a pesticide registered to control weeds in both agricultural and non-agricultural settings.
Effective immediately, no person or business in any state may use, distribute, sell, offer for sale, hold for sale, ship, deliver for shipment, or receive and (having so received) deliver or offer to deliver to any person any pesticide product containing DCPA.
Starting July 1, registered pesticide applicators in the turf and ornamental category will be required to give notice when the property they are treating is abutting to or within 250 feet from the property of a person on the Pesticide Sensitive Registry.
