Colorado farmers and ranchers are on the frontlines of climate change and are leading the way on climate-smart agricultural practices. CDA is working to develop a strategic plan to support the critical work being done in agriculture to address climate challenges faced by all Coloradans.
“Colorado’s agricultural producers are innovative, resourceful, and resilient,” said Jordan Beezley, Policy Advisor and Interim Director of the Agricultural Drought and Climate Resilience Office. “Producer input is vital in guiding the state’s development of a strategic plan for climate-smart agriculture.”
CDA will hold a kickoff listening session to seek input on how the state can support the agricultural sector in achieving climate-smart goals. The initial meeting will be followed by weekly public workshops to further develop the plan. The sessions are open to anyone wanting to provide input on the Strategic Plan.
The Climate-Smart Agriculture Stakeholder Session will be held on Thursday, October 28 at 3 pm via zoom, register here to receive a link. Workshops will be held Monday at 9am throughout November via zoom, register here to receive a link. The stakeholder session and workshops are free and open to the public but you must register to participate.
