Poultry

NOTE:  Poultry includes chickens, turkeys, ostriches, emus, rheas, cassowaries, waterfowl, game birds, and hatching eggs.

 

  1. Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (CVI) issued by an accredited veterinarian within 30 days.
    1. Exemption: Birds that originate from an NPIP participating flock in good standing may use VS Form 9-3 in lieu of a CVI.

  2. Negative Pullorum-Typhoid Test within 60 days (for turkeys 6 months and older, all other poultry 4 months and older) prior to entry if the flock is not an NPIP participating flock.

     

Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza Import Update as of March 11, 2022

Poultry movements from a HPAI Control Area must be permitted and approved by the state of origin and Colorado prior to movement.

The following statement is REQUIRED on all Certificates of Veterinary Inspection:  "The poultry in this shipment have not originated from a HPAI Control Area"
