Continuing Education Summary

All PACFA licensees, also known as the Primary Business Contact (PBC), are required to take a Continuing Education (CE) course once every two licensing periods after their first initial license period.

 

Under PACFA Rule 8 CCR 1202-15 Part 2.5.3, a pet animal facility licensed prior to October 30, 2021, is required to take the qualifying education course to satisfy the continuing education requirement in Part 2.5.2 by a date prescribed by the Commissioner, but no later than December 31, 2024.

 

The CE course will be updated every other year and will cover:

  • Any changes to PACFA statutes and rules 
  • License category-specific education on PACFA rules and regs
  • Non-compliance trends 
  • Best practices that promote the health, safety, and welfare of pet animals
  • Other relevant topics related to the PACFA program. 

 

Current PACFA licensees who have not completed the Qualifying Education program will be required to complete the course by December 31, 2024, to fulfill the Continuing Education requirement. Licensees who need to meet this requirement have been enrolled in the course and notified via email.
