Continuing Education Summary
All PACFA licensees, also known as the Primary Business Contact (PBC), are required to take a Continuing Education (CE) course once every two licensing periods after their first initial license period.
Under PACFA Rule 8 CCR 1202-15 Part 2.5.3, a pet animal facility licensed prior to October 30, 2021, is required to take the qualifying education course to satisfy the continuing education requirement in Part 2.5.2 by a date prescribed by the Commissioner, but no later than December 31, 2024.
The CE course will be updated every other year and will cover:
- Any changes to PACFA statutes and rules
- License category-specific education on PACFA rules and regs
- Non-compliance trends
- Best practices that promote the health, safety, and welfare of pet animals
- Other relevant topics related to the PACFA program.
