On June 25, 2021, Senate Bill 21-087 (“SB87”), on agricultural labor rights and responsibilities, was signed into law by Governor Jared Polis. Though SB87 took effect as law immediately upon being signed, its provisions take effect with varied dates.

Other Agriculture Worker Regulations
In addition to the regulations regarding hand weeding and hand thinning, SB21-87 also established new regulations related to worker protection from heat, worker access to service providers, and new hourly wage and overtime requirements. These new provisions are governed by the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment.
