2025 Aquatic and Semi-Aquatic Invasives Control Training

Join a workshop on purple loosestrife, hairy willow-herb, yellow flag iris and other semi-aquatic and aquatic species where you'll learn about identification, biology, control methods, and mapping. This training is presented by the Early Detection Rapid Response specialist, Emily McGrath of the Colorado Department of Agriculture, and Robert Walters and Ashley Rust of Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) on June 17, 2025 from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Purple loosestrife, hairy willow-herb, yellow flag iris, and other aquatic and semi-aquatic invasive species are destructive noxious weeds that take over wetlands, impair the flow of water, destroy wildlife habitat, and degrade native plant communities. The Front Range Purple Loosestrife group was created in 1993 by Dave Weber, Retired CPW Biologist. This Team works together today and makes great progress every year controlling purple loosestrife and other aquatic species. Come learn how you can help be part of the solution!

This event counts for 1 Laws & Regs Continuing Education Credit (CEC) and 1 Aquatic CEC when you attend in person!
