Hairy willow-herb

(Epilobium hirsutum)

  • 3 - 6' tall; perennial
  • Blooms June to August
  • Flowers single, 1/2 - 1"
  • Stems covered in soft hairs
  • Seeds with white silky tuft in long seedpod
  • Leaves 1/2" wide, 2 - 4" long, opposite, lance-shaped with toothed edges; attached directly to stem
  • Numerous native species have been found in CO wetlands
