Climate Smart Market Expansion Project
CDA's Climate Smart Market Expansion Project is a competitive grant award supporting pilot projects that facilitate expanding the marketplace for climate smart commodities and products.
The Climate Smart Markets Program was created to support the development of markets to increase sales and generate premiums for agricultural commodities and products that are grown using practices responsive to Colorado’s increasing climatic challenges.
The goal of these awards is to incentivize innovation and development of climate smart market opportunities by removing the risk of entry and start-up.
The Spring 2025 application window is now closed.

Come See Our Climate Smart Showcase at Newtopia Now in Denver, August 20-22
CDA is sponsoring six amazing local food and beverage brands, one dynamic grower-buyer coalition, and few remarkable Colorado farmers at the Colorado Climate Smart Showcase at Newtopia Now, a major natural products trade show taking place August 20-22, 2025, in Denver.
If you’ll be at the event, please come by to say hello and sample delicious food and drinks from award-winning companies that source ingredients grown using climate smart practices in Colorado: Roaring Fork Mill, Dry Storage, Dry Land Distillers, Pastificio Boulder, Haxtun Heritage Mills, and Spark + Honey. And don’t miss the Rye Resurgence Project, a grassroots coalition working to save water and build sustainable markets for San Luis Valley growers.

Find us at Booths 653-656 and 754-756 in the Regenerate area of the show floor. Newtopia Now is designed to foster meaningful connections between brands, buyers and industry leaders to create a more responsible and regenerative marketplace. CDA’s sponsored Colorado Climate Smart Showcase debuted at the inaugural Newtopia Now in 2024, garnering positive results for exhibiting companies including new retail-buyer contracts.
