Colorado continues to fight climate change with a series of newly signed laws

Several state agencies will implement policies to slash greenhouse gas emissions, improve air quality, protect our natural and agricultural lands, and make the state more resilient 

Governor Polis recently signed into law a series of bills passed by the Colorado legislature that build on the state’s commitment to an equitable transition to a low-carbon economy through robust policies and targeted funding. 

2023 Soil Health Program Report

The Colorado Soil Health Program launched in 2022 as a partnership between the Colorado Department of Agriculture, Colorado State University, the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), and many other partners. This program grew out of a stakeholder process facilitated by the Colorado Collaborative for Healthy Soils in 2019 that involved more than 250 stakeholders and resulted in the passage of HB21-1181 and SB21-235.

Ute Mountain Ute Tribe Farm Enterprise Connects the Past to a Forward-Thinking Future

On a hot September afternoon, a mix of government and tribal partners gathered to celebrate a hydropower plant project that will support the daily operations of the Ute Mountain Ute Tribe’s Farm & Ranch Enterprise. Staff and board directors from the Colorado Water Conservation Board, Department of Natural Resources, and project participants from the Ute Mountain Ute Tribe gathered to view the latest tool in the climate change mitigation toolbox - a recently installed hydroelectric turbine.
