Breeding Bison

AgView and GVL users only: Due to the rapid electronic communication of these CVI apps with our system, you will not need to have an entry permit for movement into Colorado.

All bison (regardless of age or sex) for exhibition, show, rodeo, or recreational events need to be individually identified with official ID ear tags and the official ear tag number needs to be listed on the certificate of veterinary inspection (CVI).

NOTE: As of Jan. 1, 2016, domestic bison are NOT required to be tested for brucellosis for entry into Colorado.

Entry Permits can be obtained by Calling (303) 869-9130 or using the Online Permitting System (OPS). For more information on OPS please visit the OPS Resources Webpage.
