Alert! Flowering rush was recently found in a tributary to the Colorado River located in Grand Junction! Keep your eyes out for this incredibly noxious weed, and report any sightings.

  • Up to 5' tall; perennial aquatic
  • Blooms late summer; flowers 1" wide
  • Leaves basal, sword-like & up to 3' tall by 1/2" wide
  • Thick, creeping rhizomes
  • Stems triangular, not round
  • Fruits brown, 1/2" long
  • Tolerant to a wide temperature range
